Having trouble thinking of what to say? Just tell us how important health care is to you and your family.  Here are some facts that you may find useful:

• 45 million Americans are uninsured. Four out of five uninsured Americans are in working families.
• Health care is becoming unaffordable. Premiums are rising faster than paychecks. Between 2000 and 2006, premiums for family coverage grew 6.4 times more quickly than workers' earnings.
• Medical debt. Rising health care costs is the #1 reason Americans file for bankruptcy. One in four adults with insurance reports that they are in the process of paying off medical debt or are having trouble paying their medical bills.
• We need more health coverage for kids. More than 9 million American children are uninsured - that's one out of every eight children. Last year the President (twice) vetoed a bill that would have expanded health care to nearly 4 million of these kids.
• The insurance industry needs to be regulated and forced to stop denying coverage to those with pre-existing conditions. In twenty-five states and the District of Columbia, individual insurers can dig through more than a year of your medical history to decide if you have a pre-existing condition.
