Since the beginning of the August, the media has been covering the health care debate pretty heavily. And with heavy press coverage come the right-wing talking heads. And while everyone should be allowed to state their opinion, there should be no place in this debate for lies and distortions.
Currently, you can be denied coverage by an insurance company for trivial reasons like acne in your teenage years or simply because you had migraines in the past. Worse, you can be denied for a serious illness you’re currently battling. For the thousands of Americans who lose their job-based coverage every day, they often have nowhere to turn.
Health reform did not just pop up overnight. This is something our Representatives in Congress have been working on for decades. With our economy in recession and thousands of Americans losing health insurance every day, now is the time to act.
