Every single one of us -- especially in this tumbling
economy-- has either been personally affected by the health care crisis, or has
a loved one, coworker, friend or neighbor who has suffered. We are ready for
change. As Congress prepares legislation, we intend to be there
every step of the way but we need your
support to help us out. You can start by telling us why you think America
needs health care reform now.

This Saturday, June 6th, the Obama White House
will officially start its organizing campaign to win wide popular support for
health care reform. According to the White House Web site, "After decades of false starts, the dream of quality, affordable health
care for every American is finally within reach. To succeed where others
have failed, we must build a groundswell
of support for real health care reform in every district and every state.
And we have no time to lose."

Timeliness is critical to health care reform. We learned this in 1993-1994 when President Clinton's health care reform effort was delayed: It was initiated with his speech in September 1993 and the submission of his proposal in November 1993. By that time, the President had spent a significant amount of his political capital on votes applicable to NAFTA and balancing the budget as well as his "don't ask, don't tell" administrative solution for gays in the military.

Families USA's Ron Pollack appeared on Fox News to talk with Neil Cavuto about the
hidden health tax, and drove home why it is so critical that all
Americans get health coverage. Cavuto starts off the segment by saying
that President Obama should just "forget" his plans to reform health
care, while Ron Pollack argues just the opposite. Watch it here:

Last Wednesday marked the end of President Obama's first 100
days in office, which many view as a time to take stock. Although he had a lot
on his plate with the financial crisis, health reform did not fall by the
wayside. In fact, President Obama's actions have shown Americans that because
the economic climate is so rocky,
now
is the time for reform.
